Hemco Occupant Restraints first starting manufacturing automotive safety seatbelts in 1952. We were the first Australian Company to gain accreditation to AS3902 Quality Management Standard. Since then we have advanced our quality accreditation to ISO9001 covering both design and manufacture.
Currently we supply a wide range of safety belts to Australian and overseas markets. These belts are made to stringent quality levels ensuring high quality products that are fully certified and validated throughout all stages of the manufacturing process. To achieve this excellence Hemco manufactures under license to the standards AS/NZS 2596 (seatbelts), AS/NZS 1754 (Child restraint systems) and AS/NZS 2492 (Wheelchair occupant restraint assemblies).
Seatbelt division which is located at Hemco Park, 118 Learmonth St, Ballarat, manufactures a wide range of general purpose and special purpose safety belts in a wide variety of colours. These belts are available with standard or extra webbing length. We have a variety of adjustable buckles, fixed buckles, twin cables, stalks and rigid buckles available. Many of these belts are used in automotive, industrial, marine and medical applications.
Where original equipment type belts are required we design; test and precondition safety belts for dynamic testing to ADR 4 for low volume compliance plates, covering many imported vehicles. Documentation / Testing for the above takes between 6 to 8 weeks on receipt of order.
Where special support requirements are necessary such as children or adults who are disabled or who have little or no muscular control, Hemco manufactures our special needs harness . These devices are available in small (up to 36kg) medium and large sizes. These harnesses can be transferred between vehicles.
Hemco also manufactures a large range of three and four point harnesses, tie down straps, extension straps, and many different type straps for various customer applications.
Hemco has a wide customer base including: defence departments and contractors, hospitals, Britax, IGC Doral, RC2, Chicco Bambino, Crashlab, fitting stations, ambulances, fire trucks, trucks, and also exports to New Zealand and South Africa.
Hemco sells both to wholesalers and the general public and considers no order too small or large. Discounts are offered for bulk packed orders.
